Rural Subdivision Specialists is a family owned and run land subdivision company.
Started by Saxil jnr and Saxil snr, they saw a niche market in performing land subdivisions with Landowners and Investors. Saxil jnr truly loves land subdivision and property development. An avid reader of property development forums and literature, and a member of numerous developer networks/groups, this business is a natural extension of his passion. Saxil snr has extensive business experience, working as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a number of companies.
In 2020 Daniel De Pasquale joined the business. Daniel brings a wealth of knowledge in the Developing space, having completed many projects over the previous decade. Daniel also has a background as a Registered Builder, and has a passion for property and developing that rivals Saxil jnr’s.
Behind any good business is a loving and supportive family. Saxil jnr’s wife is named Pippa, and they have two adorable little girls, Asha and Ziggy. Saxil snr’s wife is Jean, and is also known as Nanna. Daniel has a lovely family, his wife’s name is Jennifer, and their three kids are Ryan, Zac and Jemma.
Daniel started his career working on building sites, where he rose through the ranks quickly and became a Registered Builder. Building was an enjoyable profession that helped Daniel gain the onsite knowledge that is required for successful developing; working with trades, landowners and timelines, to get the best outcome for the client and development.
A near miss onsite accident forced Daniel to evaluate his future, and in discussions with his wife Jennifer, Daniel decided to focus on three things, 1. Starting a family, 2. Using his extensive building knowledge to start a success property development business, 3. Change his career to a Corporate Role. Daniel used his natural ability to communicate and started his corporate career working for a leading IT software producer, where he excelled and quickly rose to be one of the Senior Managers.
While working in the Corporate Role, Daniel learnt a lot about business and relationships, he prides himself on his ability to communicate and find an outcome where everyone is a winner. In 2018, Daniel met Saxil jnr and they would talk regularly about property and developing. They discussed working together a number of times, but it was in 2020 that they decided to join forces, where they focus on land development sites in Rural/Regional areas of Victoria.
Saxil started his career as an Accountant (CPA), where for 7 years he worked in some of Australia’s largest companies and a family tax firm. While Saxil liked Accounting, it was never his passion. Property and development are Saxil’s passion. Realising that he needed to make a switch while he was still young, Saxil enrolled in the Land Surveying course at RMIT University. Saxil loved studying surveying. He received First Class Honours and the best marks in Cadastral Surveying (surveying related to Titles, Subdivisions, and Land Development), and received the Surveyors Registration Board of Victoria award, presented to Saxil by the Surveyor General of Victoria.
An influence in Saxil’s decision to move into surveying/planning was his family’s history in the profession. The Tuxen family have been surveyors/planners in Victoria for 5 generations, since the 1850’s.
Prior to starting Rural Subdivision Specialists, Saxil worked for over a decade as a Land Surveyor in a firm that specialises in surveying/planning/engineering. Saxil’s role was primarily focused on managing subdivisions/planning applications, and liaising with Clients, Planners (Council and private), Service Authorities, Designers, Lawyers, Engineers, Developers, Builders and Civil Contractors to satisfy the planning/subdivision conditions to achieve Statement of Compliance (the final hurdle in a subdivision). In this role Saxil has been involved in over 100 successful subdivisions.
Saxil now applies his vast experience to building Rural Subdivision Specialists, focusing on finding and managing exciting land subdivisions throughout Victoria. The subdivision designs for all of Rural Subdivision Specialists sites are prepared in-house by Saxil, allowing him absolute control of the quality of the subdivisions produced.
In this youth, Saxil snr worked in the family surveying/planning business with his father and grandfather, before moving into the corporate world. Saxil snr has over 45 years of experience as a CPA with over 40 of those years in senior financial management roles.
Saxil snr has gained a diversity of experience in a number of different industries including Rural, Engineering, Textile, Manufacturing and Retail.
During this time, Saxil snr has worked in international and local companies ranging from medium sized organisations through to Australia’s largest corporations.
Saxil snr brings a wealth of business knowledge and acumen to Rural Subdivision Specialists. Saxil snr has a natural ability to communicate and understand the environment he is working in, an invaluable attribute when liaising and corresponding with different professionals and tradespeople on a daily basis.
